1937 NFL Season Recap

On Sunday, December 12th, 1937, the Washington Redskins defeated the Chicago Bears 28-21 in the 1937 NFL Championship Game to win the 18th championship in NFL history. It was the first championship for the Redskins franchise. The game was held at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

Out of Playoffs: New York Giants (6-3-2), Detroit Lions (7-4), Green Bay Packers (7-4), Chicago Cardinals (5-5-1), Pittsburgh Pirates (4-7), Brooklyn Dodgers (3-7-1), Philadelphia Eagles (2-8-1), Cleveland Rams (1-10)

Most passing touchdowns: #33 Bernie Masterson (Bears)- 9 TD

Most rushing touchdowns: #20 Cliff Battles (Redskins)- 5 TD & 874 yds

Most receiving touchdowns: #14 Don Hutson (Packers)- 7 TD
