1950 NFL Season Recap

On Sunday, December 24th, 1950, the Cleveland Browns defeated the Los Angeles Rams 30-28 in the 1950 NFL Championship Game to win the 31st championship in NFL history. It was the first championship for the Browns franchise. The game was held at the Cleveland Stadium in Cleveland.

Out of Playoffs: New York Yanks (7-5), Philadelphia Eagles (6-6), Detroit Lions (6-6), Pittsburgh Steelers (6-6), Chicago Cardinals (5-7), Green Bay Packers (3-9), Washington Redskins (3-9), San Francisco 49ers (3-9), Baltimore Colts (1-11)

Out in first round: New York Giants (L 8-3 to Browns), Chicago Bears (L 24-14 to Rams)

Most passing touchdowns: #61 George Ratterman (Yanks)- 22 TD

Most rushing touchdowns: #32 Johnny Lujack (Bears)- 11 TD

Most receiving touchdowns: #60 Bob Shaw (Cardinals)- 12 TD

Most interceptions: #81 Spec Sanders (Yanks)- 13 INT

Best field goal percentage (min. 9 attempts): #46 Lou Groza (Browns)- 13 for 19, 68.4%
