On Sunday, December 8th, 1940, the Chicago Bears
defeated the Washington Redskins 73-0 in the 1940 NFL Championship Game to win
the 21st championship in NFL history. It was the fourth championship for the Bears
franchise. The game was held at Griffith Stadium in Washington, and remains as
the largest margin of victory in an NFL game.
