Top 5 Players of the 2015 World Series

On Sunday, November 1st, 2015, the Kansas City Royals defeated the New York Mets at Citi Field in New York to win the 111th World Series four games to one. It was the second (and, as of this writing, most recent) World Series championship for the Royals franchise, as well as the 13th that was won in Missouri. These are the top five players that I felt most stood out during the series.

5. #2 Alcides Escobar (Royals)- SS

Escobar earned partial player of the game in game two, getting two RBIs along with one run and two hits as the Royals grabbed a 7-1 win.

4. #5 David Wright (Mets)- 3B

Wright scored player of the game honors in game three, hitting four RBIs on one run and two hits as the Mets claimed the 9-3 win.

3. #13 Salvador Perez (Royals)- C

Perez earned player of the game honors in game four, getting one RBI with one run and three hits as the Royals grabbed a 5-3 victory.

2. #6 Lorenzo Cain (Royals)- CF

Cain got player of the game honors in game five, driving in three RBIs along with one run, two hits, and one walk as the Royals claimed a 7-2 win in 12 innings to earn the series victory.

1. #35 Eric Hosmer (Royals)- 1B

Hosmer was player of the game in game one and partial player of the game in game two, as game one saw him get a pair of RBIs with a pair of walks in the Royals’ 5-4 win in 14 innings, while game two saw Hosmer drive in two RBIs along with one run and two hits as the Royals won it 7-1.
