Top 5 Players of the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals

On Tuesday, June 14th, 1994, the New York Rangers defeated the Vancouver Canucks at Madison Square Garden in New York to win the 81st Stanley Cup Finals four games to three. It was the fourth (and, as of this writing, most recent) Stanley Cup championship for the Rangers franchise, and the seventh that was won in New York. These are the top five players that I felt most stood out during the series.

5. #8 Greg Adams (Canucks)- F

Adams got player of the game in game one, scoring a goal and an assist as the Canucks went on to win 3-2 in overtime.

4. #22 Jeff Brown (Canucks)- D

Brown took player of the game in game six, as he got two goals to help the Canucks to the 4-1 win to extend the series.

3. #10 Pavel Bure (Canucks)- F

Bure claimed player of the game honors in game five, getting a pair of goals and an assist as the Canucks took the 6-3 victory.

2. #11 Mark Messier (Rangers)- F

Messier picked up player of the game in game seven, as he scored one goal and one assist to help the Rangers to the 3-2 win to clinch the series championship.

1. #2 Brian Leetch (Rangers)- D

Leetch took player of the game honors in games two, three, and four as game two saw him add a goal in the Rangers’ 3-1 victory, followed in game three as he got a pair of goals to win 5-1 along with a game four performance which saw him add one goal and three assists to help the Rangers to a 4-2 win.
