On Saturday, April 12th, 1941, the Boston Bruins
defeated the Detroit Red Wings at the Detroit Olympia in Detroit to win the 28th
Stanley Cup Finals four games to none. It was the third Stanley Cup
championship for the Bruins franchise, and the second that was won in Michigan.
These are the top five players that I felt most stood out during the series.
5. #17 Bobby Bauer (Bruins)- F
Bauer scored partial player of the game in game four,
as he picked up a goal as the Bruins went on to win it 3-1 to earn the series
championship.
4. #2 Flash Hollett (Bruins)- D
Hollett picked up partial player of the game in game
four as well, adding a goal as well as an assist earlier in the series to lead
the team’s defensemen in scoring.
3. #7 Eddie Wiseman (Bruins)- F
Wiseman also claimed partial player of the game honors
in game four, nabbing a goal for a total of three goals on the series.
2. #1 Frank Brimsek (Bruins)- G
Brimsek got player of the game in game two with only
one goal allowed in the Bruins’ 2-1 victory to preserve the series lead.
1. #15 Milt Schmidt (Bruins)- F
Schmidt scored player of the game honors in games one
and three, as game one saw him earn one goal and one assist as the Bruins won
it 3-2, followed up in game three with just two goals allowed in the Bruins’
4-2 win.
