Top 5 Players of the 1935 Stanley Cup Finals

On Tuesday, April 9th, 1935, the Montreal Maroons defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs at Montreal Forum in Montreal to win the 22nd Stanley Cup Finals three games to none. It was the second and final Stanley Cup championship for the Maroons franchise, and the sixth that was won in Quebec. These are the top five players that I felt most stood out during the series.

5. #14 Russ Blinco (Maroons)- F

Blinco claimed partial player of the game in game two, as he added a goal to help the Maroons to the 3-1 victory.

4. #4 Jimmy Ward (Maroons)- F

Ward scored partial player of the game in game three as he got a goal along with an assist as the Maroons went on to take the 4-1 victory to earn the series sweep.

3. #2 Cy Wentworth (Maroons)- D

Wentworth picked up partial player of the game in game three as well, getting a goal and an assist to help the Maroons take home their second and final championship.

2. #5 Baldy Northcott (Maroons)- D

Northcott claimed partial player of the game honors in games two and three, as game two saw him score one goal in the Maroons’ 3-1 win, while in game three he had one goal and one assist in the series-winning game.

1. #15 Earl Robinson (Maroons)- F

Robinson got full player of the game honors in game one and partial player of the game in game two, as game one saw him add a goal and an assist as the Maroons started off the series with a 3-2 overtime win.
