Top 5 Players of the 1975 Stanley Cup Finals

On Tuesday, May 27th, 1975, the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Buffalo Sabres at Buffalo Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo to win the 62nd Stanley Cup Finals four games to two. It was the second (and, as of this writing, most recent) Stanley Cup championship for the Flyers franchise, and the third that was won in New York. These are the top five players that I felt most stood out during the series.

5. #4 Jerry Korab (Sabres)- D

Korab picked up player of the game honors in game four, scoring a goal in the Sabres’ 4-2 victory.

4. #7 Rick Martin (Sabres)- F

Martin earned player of the game in game three, getting one goal and a pair of assists as the Sabres picked up a 5-4 overtime win.

3. #8 Dave Schultz (Flyers)- F

Schultz got player of the game in game five, scoring two goals as the Flyers went on to win it 5-1 to pull back in front in the series.

2. #7 Bill Barber (Flyers)- F

Barber claimed player of the game honors in game one, as he got two goals as the Flyers took the 4-1 victory to begin the series.

1. #1 Bernie Parent (Flyers)- G

Parent was player of the game in games two and six, as game two saw him get the win with 18 saves on 19 shots. In game six, Parent got the shutout with 32 saves on 32 shots in the Flyers’ 1-0 victory to earn the series championship.
