On Sunday, December 13th, 1931, the 1931 NFL season
concluded with the Green Bay Packers holding the best regular season record at 12-2
to win the 12th championship in NFL history, while the Portsmouth Spartans (now
Detroit Lions) took the runner-up spot with a 11-3 record. It was the third
championship for the Packers franchise. It was also the final season where the
champion was determined by win-loss percentage.
Johnny Blood of the Green Bay Packers scored the most
touchdowns during the season with 13.
