On
Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, New Zealand defeated Canada 19-12 to win
the third gold medal in Olympic women’s rugby history. It was the second gold
medal for New Zealand in Olympic women’s rugby. Canada took their first silver
medal with the loss, as the United States earned their first bronze with a 14-12
victory over Australia. The tournament was held in France, with Paris as the
host city.

Levi of Australia set a new tournament record for most tries with 14, while scoring
the most points as well with 70.
