On Sunday, February 5th, 2006, the Pittsburgh Steelers
defeated the Seattle Seahawks 21-10 in Super Bowl XL to win the 86th
championship in NFL history. It was the fifth championship for the Steelers franchise
as Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward won the Super Bowl MVP Award. The game was
held at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander won the 2005 MVP
Award with 27 rushing yards and 1,880 rushing yards, while Chicago Bears
linebacker Brian Urlacher won the 2005 Defensive Player of the Year Award with one
forced fumble and six sacks.
