On Sunday, January 27th, 1991, the New York Giants defeated
the Buffalo Bills 20-19 in Super Bowl XXV to win the 71st championship in NFL
history. It was the sixth championship for the Giants franchise as Giants running
back Ottis Anderson won the Super Bowl MVP Award. The game was held at the Tampa
Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
49ers quarterback Joe Montana won the 1990 MVP Award
with 26 passing touchdowns and 3944 passing yards, while Bills defensive end Bruce
Smith won the 1990 Defensive Player of the Year Award with 19 sacks and four
forced fumbles.
