On Wednesday, August 25th, 2004, Cuba defeated Australia
6-2 to win the fourth gold medal in Olympic baseball history. It was the third
gold medal for Cuba in Olympic baseball. Australia earned the silver medal, as Japan
took bronze with an 11-2 victory over Canada. The tournament was held in Greece,
with Athens as the host city.
