On Saturday, February 13th, 1932, Canada defeated the
United States by one win in the standings to win the fourth gold medal in
Olympic men’s ice hockey history. It was the fourth gold medal for Canada in
Olympic men’s ice hockey. The United States took the silver medal with a 4-1-1
record, claiming their third silver medal in Olympic
men’s ice hockey. Germany defeated Poland by two wins in the standings to
take the bronze medal, grabbing their first bronze medal in Olympic men’s ice
hockey. The tournament was held in the United States, with Lake Placid as the
host city.
Winthrop Palmer Jr. of the United States scored the
most goals during the tournament with eight. The tournament saw only four teams
compete as a result of the Great Depression.
