On Saturday, August 7th, 2021, Japan defeated the
United States 2-0 to win the sixth gold medal in Olympic baseball history. It
was the first gold medal for Japan in Olympic baseball. The United States earned
the silver medal with the loss, claiming their second silver medal in Olympic
baseball. The Dominican Republic defeated South Korea 10-6 in the bronze medal
game, grabbing their first bronze medal in Olympic baseball history. The
tournament was held in Japan, with Tokyo as the host city.
