On Sunday, September 5th, 1920, Great Britain defeated
Denmark by two points in the standings to win the second gold medal in Olympic
men’s field hockey history. It was the first gold medal for Great Britain in
Olympic men’s field hockey. Denmark took the silver medal with the loss,
claiming their first silver medal in Olympic men’s field
hockey. Belgium defeated France by two points in the standings, grabbing
their first bronze medal in Olympic men’s field hockey.
The tournament was held in Belgium, with Antwerp as
the host city. Stanley Shoveller of Great Britain led the tournament in goals
scored with nine.
