Top 2 NASCAR Cup Series Drivers From South Dakota

As of the 2021 racing season, there have been a total of two drivers in the Cup Series with their hometown listed in South Dakota. So far, drivers representing the Mount Rushmore State have taken one top-ten in two starts.

2. Bob Laswell (Active 1953)

Laswell made one start in the Cup Series, coming home 14th at Rapid Valley Speedway (now Black Hills Speedway) in 1953 in a 1949 Plymouth.

1. Leo Ray (Active 1953)

Ray has the only top-10 so far for South Dakota natives, as he took the eighth spot in the same race at Rapid Valley Speedway, driving a 1951 Nash.
