In seasons 51 through 55 of the Canadian Football League, the Montreal Alouettes earned the most championships during this span with two, going back-to-back in 2009 and 2010. Also claiming Grey Cups were the Calgary Stampeders in 2008, along with the BC Lions in 2011 and the Toronto Argonauts winning the 100th Grey Cup in 2012.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders finished runner-up twice, losing to the Alouettes in 2009 and 2010, while the Alouettes lost the year prior to their championship run, with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Calgary Stampeders falling in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
